OVERVIEW
The Robert E. Day, Jr. Capital Sprints Regatta began as a scrimmage among cross-town rivals and has grown into a summer racing tradition for rowing teams all over the D.C. area and up and down the East Coast. It was renamed in honor of Robert E. Day, Jr., in 2018.
Each year, more than 200 youth and adult athletes with various physical abilities compete in 30+ sweep and sculling rowing categories.
All races are 1000m. We expect to have great competition for all entry interests.
We have food trucks, medals, and loads of fun seeing old friends and making new ones.
RACE CATEGORIES
Capital Sprints will include masters, novice, juniors, inclusion, and adaptive events. There will be men's, women's, mixed gender, and open gender events.
We are excited to be using the new World Rowing handicap calculator for the masters races at Cap Sprints this year!
