Founded in 1988, CRC is home to an active membership of more than 400 rowers from the District of Columbia, Maryland and Virginia. Situated on the banks of the historic Anacostia River, CRC offers sweep and sculling programs for people of all ages, of diverse background and of all ability levels, ranging from novice programs to recreational programs to competitive racing for advanced rowers to adaptive rowing. CRC Coaches are the heart of our programs and we recruit year round for highly qualified coaches to join our team. Active CRC coaches that coach a minimum of 30 sessions each calendar year also qualify for free club membership.

Head Coach: Evening Sweep
Responsibilities:
Provide an open and welcoming environment for master’s athletes with varying backgrounds and athletic abilities.
Develop daily practice plans for athletes that accommodate the various backgrounds and athletic experience levels.
Attend and coordinate participation at regattas during the season.
Coordinate race line-ups for all regattas and loading and unloading of trailers.
Maintain safety for athletes and assistant coaches (as needed).
Attend daily practices (at least 3–5 days per week).
Provide leadership and mentorship to the Evening Sweep coaching staff.
Qualifications:
3-5 years of coaching experience
Strong understanding of rowing and ability to develop training and practice plans for masters’ athletes.
Ability to communicate technique and rowing goals clearly to athletes and assistant coaches.
Must be currently certified in First Aid/CPR/AED.
Must be certified or obtain a DC boating safety education certification (or other U.S. equivalent).
Must be eligible to work in the U.S. and pass a background check.
US Rowing Coaching Certification, Level 2 (desired).
Available to begin as soon as possible.
